I finally got a chance to test this tonight - I was wrong on the oscillator waveform after all. It should be a sawtooth or ramp - not a triangle or sine :limpyroll: Also no "close" detuning - there may be more than one osc though - maybe at octaves?? The other stuff is relatively accurate - the dela...

Hi, I like trying to figure this stuff out (not to say that I'm actually GOOD at it) so I'll hazard a guess here. Ok, SO... not sure what you're using and I am not really familiar with wavetable synthesis and putting aside that this may just be a preset AND assuming that Mr Maus used his fancy modul...

the song is amazing. my cat is gonna die. eventually :sadluv: It's a great song. I've had two cats die in the last three years but I won't ask why - RIP Oreo and Penelope I know John is known for his minimal mantra lyric style but I wish there were a bit more verse lyrics on the album. One of my fa...

Why did John say that about my pets?? :mixedemotions:

Seriously listened to the album last night for the first time with my two cats right there looking at me...

Seems to be a common issue with this song. More controversial than Cop Killer?

YES! I've got a few people into John over the years. I start with the newer stuff (and maybe "Maniac" or "Rights For Gays") and let them find the grandma peed her pants stuff on their own. Ariel seems to be the harder sell for most, actually. You have to accept the fact that some people just.. won't...

Ha ha yeah that's kind of funky but it's clown car funk at that and only the verses.
Not an insult! One of my favorite tracks. I love how it fades into the dreamier chorus part.

Maybe clues to new song titles are hidden in the video: More Paint Thinner, Coils of the Serpent, Something Went Wrong, 100,000,000 Blasphemers, Going In, Shame on You...

I really like this album (surprise surprise). Concise, not the usual all over the place hodgepodge. More of a 60s vibe throughout mixed with some dreamy 80s stuff. No real funk or "prog" elements on this one (save Acting which feels tacked on). Someone upthread said it was "safe" and I thought that ...

This Counter Strike video is perfect. Tuesday's show in Portsmouth can't come soon enough. The new album is going to be some next level business.

A little concerned people are going to be throwing cans of paint thinner at his shows though...

Picked up this later 70s Hawkwind album at the local record shop recently - kind of their "pop" album I guess - I dig it immensely: http://classicrockmusicblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Hawkwind-Quark-Strangness-and-Charm.jpg Also digging this reissued John Bender album - home-taped synth busin...

Triple Maus!!! :x :x :x There's got to be an album coming up right????? Also with both AP and Nite Jewel/Geneva touring it's a real banner year for the old Cal...
