Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Uhhh, I suppose this would go in lyrics, right?

Anyways, hey, I was just listening to Tinseltown Tranny, and thru some digging, I found the second poem recited in the song is called Living Bouquets by Mabel Easley. However, I have no clue what the first one is.
Does anyone know what piece of poetry is being stated, or can anyone at least make out what the guy is saying?

"I'm calm, cause death is coming
The word to which i will talk of first
of course is a (???).
Are these words now safety?
I know where comfort is, in this palm.
Twice this week i went into (???) and needed comfort and read these words
Have courage and i (???) and take up
its not the end

I hope jesus' one day (???)
is almost
I need to let go,
because these discouragements bite."

The first part sounds like Ariel speaking to me. I hear a familiar tone as the talking at the beginning of credit. Could just be me though.
Whereas the second one sounds like Don Knotts, or at least someone out of the era. I tried...

That's incredible! You really think it's Ariel speaking the first part? I never thought of that...
