Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

I saw this comment in an Ariel Pink thread elsewhere on the internet:

Favorite John Maus memory: My friend David Campbell was interviewing him on The Current about 5 or 6 years ago. He and David had been talking about him working with Ariel Pink and Animal Collective etc. teaching philosophy in a prestigious grad program in Switzerland... all really impressive stuff right. And so David is like "wow. that's amazing stuff. what would you do next if you could do anything in the world... what would it be?" john maus says "i'd like to help someone who is suffering or struggling." it was just a beautiful silence that followed. perfect.
I really don't think there is anyone else quite like John Maus in music.
Here's a link to the interview and some music.

Through high school, he drove an early 80's Ford (handicap accessible)van with hand controls. He could be seen regularly driving with his legs hanging out the drivers window.

Who wants to bet that John won't release music until he turns 40?

Perhaps he will release something by age 50. It is difficult to tell.

As he transcends time, there might even exist a collaboration with Hildegard of Bingen or something of sorts. We just cannot hear it yet.
Ah, just thrilled i will be able to see him live again, after almost 5 yrs. :float:
