Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Hello Mausers,

I have to admit I was more of an Ariel Pink fan before a Maus fan, but I ook the plunge and have all of Maus's major releases on CD. However, I have noticed that on a number of the songs on, well, the Songs album, that there is an annoying rustling / popping sound on a number of the tracks (big one on the end of Don't Be a Body). It almost sounds like when you turn a headphone plug in the jack - a digital artifact kinda thing. It doesn't sound like the usual incidental sounds you expect with a lo fi recording - sounds more like a bad rip. It takes me out of the song whenever I hear it and am wondering whether I received a bad cd or something. Is this intentional? Can anybody that has a copy of the cd release of Songs confirm this for me?

It's not a bad CD. It's the way the album is.
