Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

I finally got to collaborate with one of my favorite artists! R Stevie used my drawing for the cover of his new digital album.

Thanks, Pinkspoons! I was beyond flattered to learn that he liked the picture that much. It was only a drawing I was messing around with at 5 in the morning when I had nothing better to do. I did not expect anyone to care about it, least of all someone I admire so greatly.

This was Thursday night at Café OTO in London. Strange venue! 20's cabaret-cum-hipster-art-space. I can't really reconcile myself with seating at shows, especially when tables and chairs are huddled so precariously around a tiny stage. I accidentally spilled red wine on someone sat in front of me because I like to move to music, and, well, that's just a dangerous situation. He wasn't very nice about it, either (in spite of my profuse apologies and travel-sized stain remover). Stevie was ready to defend me ("Where is he?!") but my victim ran out just as the lights came up. It was an Upset the Rhythm show, so Iris and I got to chat to those guys, too. And we twirled around to "Schnitzel Boogie" as the room cleared. Fun night.

Drinking wine at an RSM show? How fancy 8D

Sadly, I only have most of mine in digital format, and the LPs I have were given to me by Stevie himself at a show. He has been very generous with me. I feel like I owe the man some money!
