Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

it's good to hear he's still massively busy.... let's just hope those albums actually come out this year.

my favorite moments (i've pretty much started skipping the rest):

desperation passion intro
dutch me
no zipper
come my way
in peices
another no answer [!!!]
pull rmx
P rmx
desperation passion rmx
horne of plenty
maushaus
spring break lucky streak

"chasing an echo" was also a nice touch, and so was "closing credits"
and i would sincerely love a heavier, lo-fi guitar, keys, and mouth drums remix of "spring break lucky streak" with rsm on guitar, am i right?

though really hard to listen to at points, i really love that they put the different layers and bits and pieces of the songs first on the track list before diving into the full versions/remixes. all the banter is great, too. it creates a very... dare i say... intimate look into the steviepink dynamic. and god, anyone wishing for some of the old school ariel pink lo-fi (myself included) got their wish fucking granted with "in pieces" and "another no answer." i really hope they do more. i mean moore.

Ordered the KKG ep from Rough Trade, although it's on their presale and doesn't have a release date... bothersome...

The unedited Ku Klux Glam from Bandcamp is one of my favourite pop music (in the quasi-intellectual sense as defined by Doctor Maus) albums of the last few years, second only to M.I.A.'s /\/\ /\ Y /\ and Australian-Sudanese rapper Bangs' REFLECTIONS. i believe KKG and Maya to be the only two albums to have successfully parodied the growing problem of Internet Art in an effective manner.
