Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Might be a long shot, but need advice on traveling to San Fran from NYC...To start with, is it possible to do it for around $400 or am I looking at silly money? What are the best places to look at for rates on flights/hotels/etc.? Deeply appreciate any help!

:kebab:

you can probably get there on air tran for ~$300....

and you can stay here pretty cheap

http://www.sfhostels.com/

so yes probably doable - depends on your comfort level, etc...

Thanks for the replies. Kate, your links seem like they'll be the most helpful out of any I've had so far, so I'm really grateful to you! Still looking doubtful I'll be able to swing it, but I've got to at least try.
App, don't tempt me. :( Sometimes I feel like I'm just crazy enough to do it.

no problem! in addition to wanting to be a rockstar's assistant and a private detective I have also always wanted to be a travel agent - I LOVE planning trips! I was planning one for work when I saw this - so I checked expedia and that's where I found the air tran pricing - personally, I have never stayed in a hostel - but my Dad does all of the time ( well he did when he was travelling) and he was always pleased with the accomodations ....

I say go for it!! in the long run you will proabably be more mad at yourself if you miss out than happy with yourself for saving the $$...

I haven't stayed in hostels in the US but stayed a few nights in a hostel in Sofia, Bulgaria last year. Had a great experience there and met some cool people from Japan and Germany.

If it were just me, belieeeeeeve me, money would be no object. I don't care about saving money when it comes to stuff like this, I'd rather not have regrets, and I'm sure it would be a memorable and worthwhile trip and it would make me very, very, very happy indeed. It's *other people* more sensible and less excitable and impulsive about the things they love who I have to convince, unfortunately...
